Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Vinh Nguyen ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the iOS app Hiyoko Time Card (ひよこタイムカード), listed on the App Store as "Hiyoko Time Card: Pay & Hours" (the "App"). The App helps you record work shifts, clock in and out, and estimate your pay. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Your shifts and pay stay with you
The App has no user accounts and no server of its own. Everything you enter – workplaces, hourly wages, shifts, clock-in and clock-out times, breaks, memos, pay settings and goals – is stored on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, a copy is kept in the private iCloud database of your own Apple ID, which Apple operates and we cannot read. We never receive, sell or share this data, and it is never sent to analytics or advertising providers.
2. Information collected automatically
We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts or location. To keep the App free and working well, the App and its service providers collect:
- Device identifiers – app-instance and installation identifiers and the identifier for vendors, used for analytics, to deliver and measure ads, and to limit how often an ad is shown. The App asks for your permission before using your advertising identifier (IDFA) for tracking; if you decline, the IDFA is not used.
- Usage data – which screens and features are used (for example that a shift was added or an export was made), without the names, times, wages or memos you entered.
- Diagnostics – crash reports and performance data (device model, OS version, app version) used to find and fix bugs.
- Advertising data – information about the ads you see and interact with (impressions, clicks, rewarded videos completed), together with your approximate region derived from your IP address.
- Purchase information – if you buy Hiyoko Premium, Apple processes the payment and gives the App a transaction record. We never receive your name, card or billing details.
3. Permissions
- Notifications – to remind you before a shift starts. Reminders are scheduled on your device.
- Calendar (optional) – to add your shifts to the iOS Calendar when you turn this on. The App only writes and updates the shift events it created.
- Photos (optional) – to let you choose a background picture for the calendar. The picture stays on your device.
- Tracking (optional) – see section 6.
4. How we use information
- To understand how the App is used and improve it.
- To detect, diagnose and fix crashes and performance problems.
- To show advertisements to free users and measure their performance.
- To deliver Hiyoko Premium if you buy it.
5. Third-party services
The App uses the following providers, which process information under their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config – firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) ad mediation and Unity Ads – unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy
- Google AdMob – policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple iCloud and App Store – apple.com/legal/privacy
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Advertising choices
You can allow or deny tracking when the App asks, and change it any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. If you deny tracking you will still see ads, but they may be less relevant. Users in the EEA and UK are asked for consent before personalised ads are shown. Hiyoko Premium removes ads.
7. Retention and deletion
Your shifts and settings stay on your device (and in your iCloud, if sync is on) until you delete them in the App or delete the App. To remove the iCloud copy, delete the App's data in Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. Analytics and crash data are kept by our providers for the periods in their policies (for Firebase Analytics, up to 14 months). To ask us to delete analytics data linked to your device, email us with the subject "Delete my data".
8. Children
The App is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country).
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information, the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, or to object to its processing. Contact us at the address below.
10. Security
Data sent to our providers travels over encrypted connections. Data on your device is protected by iOS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and the effective date above will be updated.
